Summer has arrived and the GetKnit team wants to get you outside and exploring everything this region has to offer!  Join us on this exploration with a guided canoeing day trip down the St. Croix River topped off with some refreshing wine at one of the Valley’s newest and most vibrant wineries.

On select Saturdays and Sundays in July and August – we will begin our day in Roseville, where you will be greeted by your GetKnit Gurus who will guide you throughout the day.  We’ve taken care of all the planning – you will simply board a luxury coach bus, sit back, relax, and in no time at all, we’ll arrive at beautiful Interstate State Park.  Here, we will meet the seasoned experts from Taylors Falls Canoe & Kayak Rental who will equip us with all the knowledge and gear we’ll need for smooth paddling.

The St. Croix River is one of the cleanest and most picturesque river systems in the nation!  This means we are sure to enjoy some fabulous views of the local landscape and wildlife.  We will take in the sights, sounds, and may even jump in for a swim as we make our way along the Minnesota-Wisconsin border.  No canoe trip is complete without a mid-paddle break and nourishment.  We aim to satisfy your appetite with a gourmet boxed lunch from local favorite, Juneberry Cafe.   At time of registration you can choose between Turkey Pesto with Cheddar, Ham and Cheddar with Fig, or Egg Salad with Fresh Dill.

The only thing more relaxing than a trip down the St. Croix via canoe is taking a stroll through one of the vineyards that dots its Valley.  We will reward our day of paddling with a visit to Rustic Roots Winery, nestled in the countryside that surrounds the St. Croix River Valley.  Our visit will start off with a flight of four of their fine wines.  This will be paired with a flavorful appetizer featuring a house-made hummus and a whipped feta dip, served with chips and fresh veggies from our friends at Juneberry Cafe.  Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to go on an optional tour, or you may choose to order up a glass of wine and simply enjoy some social time with new friends and enjoy the scenery of the valley from atop their gorgeous grounds.  A return-trip to the Twin Cities is all that stands between us and our farewell – where we will send you on your way with great memories and a big summer smile!
