Fall in love with local wine this fall on our inaugural ‘Mississippi River Valley Winery Tour’ that explores three unique wineries in the Mississippi River Valley on select Saturday’s this October. During this day trip, you will have the opportunity to take in both the sights and the wine that this beautiful region has to offer.

Our day trip will begin as we gather at St. Paul’s Union Depot where your local GetKnit Gurus will be awaiting your arrival and check you in. Once we’ve all arrived and gotten comfy on our luxury motor coach for the day, we will begin our drive over the river into Wisconsin for our first winery. Our first stop will be to the family owned and operated Forestville Winery, which will be opening up early just for us! Their tasting room is housed in a one-room schoolhouse that dates back to 1897 and is filled with endless history and charm. Here we will be treated to our first wine tasting flight of the day featuring five locally made wines with grapes grown on property and from the nearby regions. After we’ve gotten our “lesson” from the fine folks at Forestville – we will be set free to explore their beautiful property, with wine in hand of course. As we board our transportation to head to our next stop, we will be treated to individual charcuterie boxes from the valley’s very own, That Girl Brie, who is known for “turning events into a masterpiece, one delectable bite at a time”.

As we enjoy our pre-lunch snack, we will head into the Mississippi River Valley and hop on Wisconsin’s picturesque Great River Road! After a relaxing 45 minute drive we will land at our second stop for the day, Villa Bellezza Winery in Pepin, WI. From the moment we pull into this beloved winery, you will be transported overseas to Italy. Here we’ll be welcomed with a tasting of four locally made wines, followed by a delicious lunch featuring a buffet of salad and house-made pizzas. After we’ve refueled, you’ll have some free time to order up another beverage, explore the winery, or just kick up your feet and take in the beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and Italian-inspired buildings alike.

From here, we will continue our journey down river to the family owned, Danzinger Vineyards in Alma, WI, which is perched atop the rolling hills along the stunning Mississippi River Valley. Here we’ll enjoy our final wine tasting featuring five different wines. After we complete our tastings, you’ll be invited to soak up our time at this amazing winery however you see fit – purchase a glass of wine and take in the magnificent views of the valley, explore their newly renovated tasting room, or just relax in our semi-private space and chat with friends, old and new alike.

Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional glasses and bottles of wine to your heart’s content.

As the day draws to a close and we make our return trip back to the Twin Cities, we are sure that you will head home with memories almost as rich as the wine we tasted.
