Every four years, the sport of Curling is catapulted into the international spotlight as part of the Winter Olympic Games.  Though many of us may find ourselves trying to understand the rules of curling, we still have that constant thought of “I could do that” as you watch at home.  GetKnit has made it easy for you to fulfill your “Olympic Dreams” with this one-of-a-kind Get-Together featuring curling, craft beer (and wine!), and a delicious dinner from our new featured food partner – Gastrotruck!

Each evening will begin at Frogtown Curling Club in Saint Paul.  Home to six curling sheets, this club will be all ours for each night full of curling and craft beer (or wine!)

After your GetKnit Gurus get you checked in, you’ll be invited to order up an included craft beer from a mix of featured local breweries including Indeed Brewing, Summit Brewing and Fulton Brewing.  If craft beer is not your thing – no worries, you can also choose between a glass of house wine or a non-alcoholic beverage to help kickoff our fun evening together. With beverage in hand we’ll enjoy a scrumptious dinner from our friends at Gastrotruck, who’ve been creating delicious, locally sourced food for over 14 years throughout the Twin Cities. For dinner, we’ll be treated to an elevated BBQ Sandwich of your choice, served with hearty mac-and-cheese, crisp kettle chips and Cole slaw.  At time of registration you’ll be able to choose between their Pulled Pork Sandwich: Delicious pulled pork topped with house-made BBQ Sauce, slaw, and greens.  Served on a bun (DF, GF w/o Bun); Grass-fed Beef Brisket: Tender Brisket served with house-made BBQ sauce, topped with slaw, and greens. Served on a bun (DF, GF w/o Bun); or the JackFruit Sandwich: Tender JackFruit topped with house-made BBQ sauce, slaw, and greens.  Served on a bun (DF, VV, GF w/o Bun).

Following dinner, we will introduce our qualified instructors from Frogtown Curling Club and they will lead us in a classroom and on-ice curling lesson.  After “mastering” this very unique sport, we will break up into teams of four, and enjoy 2+ hours of Curling practice and matches.  During this time, we will crank up the music, enjoy some more drinks if you so choose, and have some awesome prizes for Curling contests throughout the night.
