Soak up your summer on this brand-new get-together, ‘The Wine Slushy Tour’, which celebrates the beloved (and refreshing!) wine slushy! On select Saturdays and Sundays this summer, join us as we set out to discover the best wine slushies in the St. Croix River Valley making visits to three unique wineries, tasting ten different wine slushy varieties, enjoying delicious food, wandering through sprawling vineyards, and taking in the picturesque landscape that this vibrant region has to offer.

To begin this event, our GetKnit Gurus will meet and greet you before we board our luxury coach bus, which will serve as our “slushy-mobile” throughout our days adventures in the river valley. Our first stop for the day will be to the family-owned and operated Winehaven Winery, a 50-acre estate winery in Chisago City, MN. Winehaven is not only a cornerstone of Minnesota winemaking community, repeatedly receiving accolades for its wide variety of wines, but it has also gained equal legendary status for its innovative, seasonal frozen wine flights! Here we will enjoy a wine slushy tasting flight featuring four unique wine slushy flavors. Following a special welcome from our friends at Winehaven, we’ll also get to enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a fresh salad and a mix of flatbread pizzas, all while we take in the views of their vineyard and surrounding lakes from the comfort of their tasting room.

With bellies full, we will head to our next stop – the river valley’s beautiful Rustic Roots Winery. Here we’ll be welcomed with our first (of four) wine slushy tasting and be ushered into their beautiful, new event tent which sits right next to their sprawling vineyard on the bluffs of the St. Croix River Valley. After a brief welcome, we will be able to order up our remaining wine slushies at our own space. During our time at Rustic Roots, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy an optional vineyard and production tour, explore the winery and its beautiful grounds, or just kick up your feet and take in the stunning views of the valley from our private space.

Next, we will continue downriver to our final slushy stop at Stillwater, Minnesota’s very own Saint Croix Vineyard! Founded in 1992, Saint Croix Vineyards is a true pioneer in the cold-climate wine industry. To finish out our progressive tasting experience, we will get to enjoy both of Saint Croix Vineyards featured wine slushies, which have been celebrated as a great way to beat the mid-summer heat while lounging on the scenic winery grounds. Here, we will be treated with a half-pour of one of the featured wine slushies as we receive a welcome from their team. We will then be invited to enjoy a delicious afternoon snack featuring a mix of cheese, crackers and fruit platters in our semi-private tent outside. During the remainder of our time here we will be able to order up our second half-pour wine slushy and be invited to roam their beautiful grounds, explore their wine tasting room which is in a beautifully refurbished, century-old red barn, or visit their neighbors at Aamodt’s Apple Orchard. No matter how you choose to enjoy, this is sure to be the perfect final stop on our fun-filled summer slushy day!

Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to purchase additional wine slushies, glasses of wine and bottles alike – enjoying within moderation of course!

As the day draws to a close and we make our return trip, we are sure that you will head home with memories almost as sweet as the wine slushies we savored.
