While we think Minnesota is wonderful year-around, when the snow starts to fall and the Christmas spirit is in the air it really is the “most wonderful time of the year”!  Your local Elves (ahem Gurus) want to help you “Deck the Halls” and get you into the holiday spirit as we learn how to make our very own holiday wreaths!  Join us for a very special evening featuring elegant wine, delicious food, a wreath making class, and some holiday cheer!

On select dates in early December – our evening will begin at Minneapolis’ first downtown production winery, AxeBridge Wine Co.   Having opened their doors in the lovely North Loop in 2021, this urban winery offers up a wide range of artisan wines, delicious food, and charming vibes.   Here, your GetKnit Gurus will be awaiting your arrival and get you checked in for festive and fun night.   After ordering up an included glass of wine from AxeBridge’s vibrant line-up, hot mulled wine, or a non-alcoholic beverage, you’ll be able to snack on an array of seasonal vegetables, crackers, spinach & artichoke dip, and red pepper hummus dip as an appetizer.  Once we’ve settled in we will be treated to a scrumptious flatbread dinner from their in-house kitchen.  At time of registration you’ll be able to choose between a Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread, Red Pepper Margarita Flatbread, or a Pepperoni Flatbread.

After we eat and drink our fill, we will be ready to learn a new craft and create a take-home 18″ or 24″ wreath made up of Noble Fir boughs (branches) from our local landscaping pals, Mickman Brothers.  We’ll first get a demonstration of how to put together our own wreaths, and orient ourselves with all the materials used in creating these festive decorations.  Then we will test out our new skills and get to work like a busy little elf!  As part of this class, you can choose between an 18″ wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a standard-sized door) or a 24″ wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a wall, outdoors, or above a fireplace).  You’ll also receive all materials to attach your boughs, 10-15 Noble Fir boughs, ribbon to create your own bows, and an assortment of decorations to help you deck out your wreath!
