While we think Minnesota is wonderful year-around, when the snow starts to fall and the Christmas spirit is in the air it really is the “most wonderful time of the year”! Your local Elves (ahem Gurus) want to help you “Deck the Halls” and get you into the holiday spirit as we learn how to make our very own holiday wreaths! Join us for a very special evening featuring locally crafted cocktails, delicious food, a wreath making class, and some holiday cheer!

On select weekdays in early December – our evening will begin at Norseman Distillery in N.E. Minneapolis – which opened in 2013 making it the first (legal) distillery in Minneapolis since prohibition. After getting checked in, you’ll be invited to take a seat in Norseman’s private event space, “the Garden Suite”, and enjoy a craft cocktail or mocktail of your choosing from their unique menu of drinks. Perfectly paired with our beverages, we’ll be invited to enjoy a house-made appetizer featuring Norseman’s whipped ricotta drizzled with local honey and topped off with crispy fried mint served with traditional rye crispbread and crackers. Once we’ve all settled in and started to feel “merry” we will open up our dinner buffet featuring Caesar salad and house-made pizzas with dough made with Heritage Rye Grain, which they use to make their whiskey! For this event, we will feature a variety of five of their fan-favorite pizzas which will include: Nordeast Special: mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni, hot honey, and chopped pistachios; Dilly Dally: sour cream, mozzarella, house-made pickles, dill, and flaky salt; Pepperoni: mozzarella, and pepperoni; Fungi: arrabbiata, mozzarella, mushrooms, garlic, olive oil; and the Woodland: pesto, mozzarella, parm, chicken, mushrooms, garlic, arugula, and balsamic glaze…all for us to enjoy!

After we eat and drink our fill, we will be ready to learn a new craft and create a take-home 18″ or 24″ wreath made up of Noble Fir boughs (branches) from our local landscaping pals, Mickman Brothers. We’ll first get a demonstration from our Local Gurus on how to put together our own wreaths, and orient ourselves with all the materials used in creating these festive decorations. Then we will test out our new skills and get to work like a busy little elf! As part of this class, you can choose between an 18″ wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a standard-sized door) or a 24″ wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a wall, outdoors, or above a fireplace). You’ll also receive all materials to attach your boughs, 10-15 Noble Fir boughs, ribbon to create your own bows, and an assortment of decorations to help you deck out your wreath!

To top off our night, we will be treated to a flavorful cookie from Norseman’s in-house kitchen for dessert – which will serve as the perfect pairing to our festive and fun evening together!
