EVENT DETAILS:

Get whisked away this fall on our brand-new culinary experience, ‘Cooking at the Cidery: A Taste of Fall Harvest’ hosted exclusively at Minneapolis Cider Company. Join us for an unforgettable culinary experience that celebrates the fresh flavors of fall! As part of this experience, guests will enjoy a flight of thoughtfully handcrafted hard ciders made locally at Minneapolis Cider Company, while cooking up some fun alongside the chefs from Way Cool Cooking School in a hands-on and demonstrative class. This interactive evening is the perfect fall-time pairing…from the orchard to the table.

To begin this event, our GetKnit Gurus will be ready to welcome you at Minneapolis Cider Company, who’s been a local leader in the craft hard cider industry since they opened their doors in 2019. They proudly believe in “fruit, flavor, and people” and that “cider should be delicious, refreshing, full of flavor, and a perfect compliment to food”! After getting checked in, you’ll be invited to take a seat in Minneapolis Cider’s private event room and enjoy a tasting flight featuring three 5 ounce locally made ciders (with our fourth tasting being paired with dessert). Perfectly paired with our cider tastings, we will be invited to enjoy a beautifully curated charcuterie appetizer prepared by the culinary team at Minneapolis Cider, to help kick off the culinary experience for our evening together.

Once we’ve all arrived, we will meet our partners from Way Cool Cooking School, who’ve been bringing people together in the kitchen through food experiences since 2004. Under the guidance of their qualified, personable and professional chefs, we will first get an engaging and informative chef-demonstrated lesson on how to make a Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad with Blueberry Borealis Cider Dressing made with Minneapolis Cider. The Way Cool chefs will demonstrate how to trim and finely shave Brussels sprouts to create a tender, crisp salad base. We will then have an opportunity to roll up our sleeves and work with the chefs, balancing the bright fruit flavor of Blueberry Borealis Cider with complementary savory and tangy ingredients before tossing and finishing their salads at the table.

From there, we will turn our attention to the main entrée for the evening, a one-pan Spiced Apple Cider Chicken with Apples and Onions. We’ll start by learning how to perfectly season and sauté our chicken, cook down fresh apples and onions, and create a fragrant pan sauce infused with warming autumn spices featuring a Minneapolis Cider Company cider. The Way Cool chefs will guide everyone through each step, sharing practical techniques for properly cooking chicken, developing flavor in a pan and creating a delicious seasonal sauce. When it is time to dine, the chicken will be served alongside a chef-prepared Brown Butter Sweet Potato Mash, adding a rich and savory complement to the cider-infused entrée.

To end the evening, the chefs will serve an indulgent Drunken Apple Crisp topped with whipped cream and Minneapolis Cider Company’s Pommeau-Infused Caramel Sauce. This chef-prepared dessert brings together tender spiced apples, a buttery crisp topping and rich cider-inspired caramel for the perfect final taste of fall. A full overview of our “Taste of Fall Harvest” menu is as follows:

  • Course 1: Chef Demonstrated Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad with Hands-On Dressing: Crisp Brussel sprouts, trimmed and thinly shaved, tossed with blueberries, toasted pepitas, and parmesan, dressed with a hands on dressing featuring Minneapolis Cider’s Blueberry Borealis Cider.
  • Course 2: Hands-On Spiced Apple Cider Chicken with Apples and Onions: Seared chicken with fragrant apples and onions, served with a pan sauce infused with warming autumn spices featuring the Minneapolis Cider Company cider. Enjoyed alongside a chef-prepared Brown Butter Sweet Potato Mash.
  • Course 3: Chef-Prepared Drunken Apple Crisp: warm and spiced apples, served with a buttery crisp and topped with whipped cream and Minneapolis Cider Company’s Pommeau-Infused Caramel Sauce.

This event offers the ideal balance of hands-on cooking, chef instruction and relaxed dining. Guests will learn approachable techniques, enjoy a seasonal meal together and experience Minneapolis Cider Company’s beverages in an entirely new way—incorporated directly into each thoughtfully designed course. With bellies as full as our hearts, new skills learned and new friends made – we will head home with recipe cards featuring all of the items on our menu so we can recreate this delicious meal in the comfort of our own homes anytime we please!
