The Twin Cities Metro is a vibrant region full of arts, theater, food, drink, outdoor activities, and more. While the Downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul garner much-deserved attention, the equally vibrant suburbs sit quietly and happily in their shadows – until now! GetKnit is excited to shed a light and introduce you to the towns and breweries that surround the ‘Cities with our brand-new Burbs Brewery Tour: South Metro.
Our day will begin in Downtown St. Paul at historic Union Depot, where your GetKnit Gurus will await your arrival with a light breakfast and coffee. After getting checked in, our luxury coach bus will carry us south as we depart the hussle-and-bustle of the city and head toward the ‘burbs.
Our first suburban stop will deliver us to Eagan and Bald Man Brewing, who brings together fresh Artisan beer, friends, and great rock music to create a new brewery like no other. Enjoy samples of their robust portfolio of delicious beers while exploring this state-of-the-art facility featuring appearances from Hendrix, Clapton, and Page.
The next stop on our tour will bring us to appropriately-named Lakeville Brewing Company in Lakeville. Their friendly staff will share their love for beer and food with us as we enjoy a brewpub lunch served alongside another round of tastings of their freshly-brewed beer.
A short stroll will take us to Lakeville Brewing’s neighbor – Angry Inch Brewing, which resides in a former hardware store. Here, we are sure to be filled with cheer and beer as we enjoy a few samples of their “Angry beer for happy people”.
After two stops in one ‘burb, we’ll hop aboard the bus for a quick trip to Burnsville and our next stop: Nutmeg Brewhouse. Part modern Americana, part British colonial, ALL Minnesotan – Nutmeg will treat us to another round of brews from their eclectic beer list. Should you choose, order up a snack from their food menu featuring international delights.
Next, a short ride will bring us to Shakopee and Badger Hill Brewing Co. Believing that “some of the best things happen over a beer,” this final brewery stop is sure to bring good things – whether it be new friendships, ground-breaking ideas, or great stories!
After exploring 5 breweries throughout the South Metro, and meeting some of our suburban neighbors, we will return to the ‘cities with a new appreciation for the ‘burbs and the amazing beer that has been brewing in the towns that surround our beloved Metro area.
