Spring has sprung and the GetKnit team wants to get you outside and exploring everything the Twin Cities has to offer! Join us on this morning adventure with an intimate guided kayaking adventure down the wild Minnehaha Creek with a post-paddle lunch and choice of craft beer or wine at a local brewery.
Our morning of adventuring will begin at local brewery and watering hole, Town Hall Brewery Lanes, who is opening up early just for us. Here your local ‘Gurus’ will be awaiting your arrival and get you checked in for our day on the water. At check-in you’ll be treated to fresh coffee and local donuts from A Bakers Wife Bakery located just down the road. Once our intimate group of paddlers all arrive we will hop on our private bus that will carry us up-creek to Lynnhurst Park, our put-in location for the creek.
Upon arrival, our partners from Minnesota Adventure Company and the GetKnit crew will unload our water vessels as one of their experienced paddlers gives us a tutorial on kayaking to ensure that we are all ready to take to the creek. After we get into our solo kayaks we will begin our 5.5-mile journey down the alluring Minnehaha Creek. We will make our way down creek as it makes its way through beautifully wooded shorelines, under bridges, along city parks, through Lake Hiawatha, and charming neighborhoods. At times you will feel as if you’ve been transported far away and forget that downtown Minneapolis is just miles away.
Our journey down creek will end just shy of the infamous Minnehaha Falls, where our bus will be waiting to bring us back to Town Hall Brewing Lanes, which is just minutes away.
At the brewery, enjoy your choice of either a well-deserved pint of one of their refreshing brews or a glass of house wine paired with a scrumptious brewpub lunch. Choose between a Brewer’s Double Burger, Curry Chicken Naan Tacos, Caprese Flatbread, Thai Chicken Flatbread, Spinach & Goat Cheese Salad, or a Black Bean Burger.
This morning excursion is the perfect way to kick off your weekend and make the most of your late spring!
