DULUTH SKI & SNOWBOARD OVERNIGHT ADVENTURE

Winter isn’t meant to be simply endured, but embraced! Join us on our overnight adventure to beautiful Duluth, MN to embark on a weekend full of winter fun. From carving your way down the slopes, strolling around Canal Park, relaxing next to a roaring fire, and drinking in the vibrant nightlife… this Lake Superior weekend getaway has something for everyone! Not only will you find fun and entertainment, but GetKnit will plan all the details of your weekend “up north” so you can truly relax and enjoy this one-of-a-kind overnight experience.

Our weekend will begin bright and early on Saturday morning as we gather at the Park and Ride in Roseville, where your local GetKnit Gurus will anxiously await your arrival  with a delicious pastry and coffee breakfast. We’ll be able to store your luggage and equipment (if you’re bringing your own) safely below and then board our luxury coach bus that will whisk us away for our journey north to Duluth.

Upon arriving at Spirit Mountain, we’ll gear up for a day on the slopes with our own skis/snowboards or utilize a discounted rental rate for slope-necessities. Once equipped, you will have the opportunity to explore the Mountain at your leisure. Ride the lift to the top and choose your difficulty from 22 different runs, learn to ski or re-acclimate yourself on the bunny slopes, or enjoy the warmth and atmosphere in the cozy lodge. No matter the adventure you choose, take a break to refuel by utilizing your $10 meal voucher for lunch in the lodge.  If you’re looking to get a jump start on the adventures that await in Downtown Duluth and Canal Park, we’ll have shuttles  to our hotel throughout the afternoon, offering you the ability to make this weekend getaway a truly personalized excursion.

After spending seven hours exploring the slopes and enjoying the views at Spirit Mountain, we’ll reload our trusty transport and travel to our accommodations for the evening at The Inn on Lake Superior in historic Canal Park. Upon arrival, we’ll have roughly two hours of free time to clean up, relax, and enjoy a complimentary drink at the GetKnit Happy Hour featuring local beers from the North Shore.

After working up our appetites with a day on the Mountain, a short jaunt from the hotel will deliver us to Tycoons Alehouse located in the heart of downtown Duluth for a gourmet dinner and complimentary beverage of your choice. Choose from an 8 oz. Sirloin Steak, Marinated Chicken, or Smoked Gouda Mac-N-Cheese along with a freshly brewed beer, house wine, cocktail, or non-alcoholic beverage.

After dinner, the night is yours to do with what you will! Explore Canal Park by checking out the Aerial Lift Bridge, taste some local spirits at Vikre Distillery, enjoy one of the many local watering holes, or dance the night away at The Sports Garden owned by iconic Grandma’s Saloon. Your GetKnit Gurus are happy to make suggestions and join in your evening excursions!

If a night on the town sounds too exhausting, you can enjoy one of the amenities offered by The Inn on Lake Superior. Take a dip in the indoor pool or warm-up in the hot tub or sauna. Enjoy the stars and the company of friends in the rooftop heated pool. Toast up a perfect s’more and savor the flavors as you relish in the lakeside atmosphere.

There’s no wrong way to enjoy an evening in Canal Park, but however you choose to enjoy it and whenever you decide to call it a night, your conveniently close hotel room and comfy bed are sure to be the icing on the cake.

Whether you’re an early-riser or have turned sleeping-in into an art form, breakfast will be waiting in the hotel lobby upon waking. Once you fill up your belly, the morning is yours. Explore the shops, coffee houses, and sights in Canal Park or enjoy the back of your eyelids with a relaxing nap in the carefree environment of your hotel room. Put on your walking shoes to explore the shore of Lake Superior, or go on a mission to find the best Bloody Mary around. The morning is a great time to explore and cap off an amazing weekend in Duluth.

As our adventure together comes to a close, we’ll enjoy lunch together at Canal Park Brewing Company, just down the road from our hotel. Here we’ll choose from an array of hearty pub-fare including a Bacon Cheeseburger, Turkey Burger, Brew Company Cobb Salad, Portabella Fresca, or a Asian Chicken Wrap with your choice of soda or coffee to wash down your meal.

Our post-lunch return trip will deliver us back to the Twin Cities full, happy, well-rested, perhaps a bit sore, and with the satisfaction that we fully embraced this wintery weekend in northern Minnesota!
