As the temperatures begin to rise and the snow retreats for another year, your Local Gurus want to help you celebrate spring and the reawakening of greenage, flowers, and flowing waterways, as we learn how to make our very own take-home terrariums!  Join us for a very special evening featuring locally made craft cider, delicious food, a terrarium making class, and springtime cheer!

On select Thursday’s in late May – Our evening will begin in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis at Number 12 Cider.  Having opened their doors in 2018, they’ve put their 30+ years of experience crafting cider to the test and helped to create a new standard for cider in the Twin Cities (and beyond).   Here, your GetKnit Gurus will be awaiting your arrival and get you checked in for our fun evening together.   After you get settled in to our semi-private space, you’ll be invited to order-up a  flight of four ciders of your choice from their ever changing line-up of distinctive ciders.  Once we’ve all arrived we’ll be treated to a scrumptious wood-fire pizza and salad buffet for dinner from their in-house food truck, Little Tomato, which serves up a delicious mix of handcraft wood-fired pizza from an Italian Forno Bravo brick oven.

After we eat and drink our fill, we will be ready to learn a new craft and create a take-home terrarium, which is a mini-ecosystem home to three succulents.  We’ll first get a demonstration of how to put together our own terrariums, and orient ourselves with all the materials used in creating these beautiful additions to your home or office.  Then we will test out our new skills and get to work like a busy little gnome!  We will be able to select three succulents from a collection of 5-6 varieties (all approx. 2″-2.5″ in size) locally grown on a family farm near Columbus, MN.  Once we’ve collected our lovely succulents, we’ll receive a stylish 9″ glass vase, dirt, rocks, charcoal, and all other materials needed to create your uniquely you terrariums.
