Above freezing? It must be patio season in Minnesota! We reached out to our beloved gurus to round up the best patios to soak up some sunshine, sip on a local brew and make the most of the nice weather.

Here’s where we recommend venturing off to this season:

Location: Cathedral Hill, St. Paul

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “Yes to WA Frost! Strong secret garden vibes.”

Location: Open seasonally in Minneapolis

Dog-friendly?  Yes

Our take: “I love Sea Salt. Walk to the river then have some fish tacos and a drink next to the falls, I mean come on!”

Location: Stillwater, Minnesota

Dog-friendly? No

Our take: “A must when you’re visiting Stillwater. The view speaks for itself!”

Location: St. Anthony Main

Dog-friendly? No

Our take: “My new favorite is Jefe on St. Anthony Main! That place is real sexy inside. Anything on St. Anthony Main will have awesome views of the Minneapolis skyline, and you can take a stroll across the Stone Arch Bridge.”

 

Location: Open seasonally in St. Paul

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “City House on the river in St. Paul. You can literally sit on top of the river while you sip a brew and eat some amazing food from Red River Kitchen.”

 

 

Location: Lyn-Lake, Minneapolis

Dog-friendly? No

Our take: “Awesome food and drink specials, great views of the skyline, and house-brewed saki.”

 

Location: Northeast, Minneapolis

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “I’m biased [cough cough, Matt Plank], but I love Indeed’s patio. Tucked back in an industrial setting and a great place to watch the trains go by.”

 

Location: Excelsior, MN

Dog-friendly? No

Our take: “Nestled on the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka – not only do they have great views of the lake, but a wonderful happy hour!”

Location: South Minneapolis – on Lake Nokomis

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “A must during the summer!  Great food, wonderful variety of local beers and wine, and located right next to the main beach at Lake Nokomis!”

Location: Lowertown, St. Paul

Dog-friendly? Until 5pm

Our take: “Sandwiched between two buildings feels like you could be miles away in any urban setting. Great beer list, too!”

 

Location: Northeast, Minneapolis

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “I am a sucker for some Betty Dangers action. This is my kind of country club – complete with a ferris wheel ride overlooking Minneapolis.”

 

Location: Midway, St. Paul

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “A spacious and inviting patio nestled between the once industrial buildings that Lake Monster inhabits.  The perfect place to sip a pint, under the shadow of the water tower overhead!”

Location: Warehouse district of Minneapolis

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “A classic spot for a casual drink in the summer – you can split a large Buddy Bowl with your best buds for cheap and DELISH eats.”

Location: Nicollet Mall of Minneapolis

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “When I was a young whippersnapper we would go to Brit’s Pub for some rooftop lawn bowling!”

 

Location: Midway, St. Paul

Dog-friendly? Yes

Our take: “If drinking a delicious (and 100 % organic) beer in a natural prairie with wildflowers, next to a roaring fire, atop of a gorgeous hand lain brick patio sounds good to you – then this is the patio for you!  Bonus – they have a current chef residency from Northern Fires Wood Fired Pizza!”
