rivertowellHere at GetKnit Events we commend and support all things good.  Good fun, good beer, and good company.  So when we hear of good causes out in our community, we can’t help but talk about it!

River to Well is a photo competition that supports the construction and restoration of wells in African communities that lack a reliable source of clean water. They host a
global photo competition that is later judged by a panel of professionals. The winning photos are then put into a traveling gallery and are also available for purchase. And we Twin Cities dwellers are just in luck– they’ve chosen Minneapolis as one of their destinations, and it all goes down this Saturday, December 7th!

Our favorite part: they make charity extremely accessible for all– $35 for a unique piece of art! We GetKnitters may not have millions to donate to the cause, but we sure can afford $35.  100% of money raised goes directly towards the cause.
What’s even better is that in addition to the gallery they’ve gotten some awesome local businesses donating adult beverages:  FINNEGANS has donated some of their amazing non-profit brew, and St. Croix Vineyards has been kind enough to donate some wine for your enjoyment.  Yet another reason why we love those guys!

A perfect combo for a Saturday night:  You & five friends enjoying some tasty local beverages paired with winning photographs from around the world, and helping those in desperate need all at the same time.
